Part of our Ocean Series, our shirt design of the Mahi Mahi (dolphinfish) is our salute to another impressive resident of the Hawaiian waters.. This colorful, distinct fish has a long body and a blunt face, with a forked caudal fin (tail), and a dorsal fin that runs the length of its body.

Mahi mahi are among the fastest-growing of fish. They spawn in warm ocean currents throughout much of the year, and their young are commonly found in rafts of Sargassum weeds. Mahi mahi can live for up to five years, although they seldom exceed four. Females are usually smaller than males. Catches typically are 15 to 29 lb and a meter in length. They rarely exceed 33 lbs, and mahi mahi over 40 lbs are exceptional.
